Hope deferred until next week

Up until this morning I was very hopeful that we would see pictures this week & actually know who our kids are, but our POA wrote the following this morning and I proceeded to cry all the way to work...

Talking with the nun this morning she said that they had already done the medical testing and identified the children for about 12 families including yours. She has not yet submitted all the required information to the ministry- she was to take them today, but Veronique is not in the office. She has made an appointment with Veronique for this coming Friday. So let's wait patiently to hear from Veronique later this week or early next week.

I have been waiting patiently and I will continue to wait because I have no other choice, but it is hard- we look forward with hesitant hope to next week...

  1. We are waiting with so much love I feel it travels all the way to Rwanda to stay with our family as we wait for them to join us. It is so hard not seeing them, but I feel we will have them with us soon. Then, the joy!

  2. Katie and Adam,

I am here waiting with you. We started our homestudy in December so this is beginning to feel longer then expected. We are so close, I am imagining what our children look like, in my dreams I can see them, smell them, hear them. I am really worried though, becuase my husband has been told he cannot take any unpaid leave so I am praying that we will be able to travel over Thanksgiving Break. Otherwise, I don't know yet what the plan will be...

  3. Oh Katie! I know how disappointing that must be. What a beautiful feeling to know that your children are chosen for you though! All in God's perfect timing...but I know how hard it is to be patient for that! Still praying with you and for you.

  4. Katie... you are a mommy!!!!! Of TWO!!!! How wonderful that the nuns have chosen our children for us. Now we have to pray that the minister moves fast so we can see what they look like. O anticipation! Stay busy this week, plan lots of extra stuff to fill your time, and your referral will be here before you know it. Quite frankly I'm getting used to waiting longer than expected... doesn't make it easy, just familiar :) Here's to hoping for next week!!!
